In March 2020, the Hobart City Council announced a new by-law to reduce single-use plastics. The by-law identifies specific items that will be banned from July 2021 to reduce plastic waste ending up in landfills. By doing so, the Council hopes to promote a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way of life in the community.
